Feng Ho

social & environmental justice

My name is Feng and I am a daughter, a sister, a wife and a mother.

With each year that passes, I see my daughters changing from baby to toddler, to a girl, and eventually to a young adult. And when the seasons come and go, I see the world changing – too. Wild fires and devastating floods are becoming more & more common in the Global north. I am terrified.

In 2019, the government declared the climate emergency. Not enough has been done in that time.

As a mother, it is my duty to protect my children. But when it comes to climate, I feel utterly powerless. Real change comes from our country leaders and policy makers, and they’re not doing enough.

So instead of sitting on a beach, I’m sitting in the road. Instead of playing, I’m protesting. Instead of telling my kids that everything is going to be OK, I’m telling them to stand up for what’s right, and fight for their future. ✊✊✊
